The data collector can even direct the contractor to specific points, like the corners of the building or where concrete pillars will be located.

The use of computer programs not only makes construction design engineering more efficient, it can reduce costs as well. With the elimination of human error and the ability to create models with far greater accuracy in less time, the number of employees needed is lessened. The increase of speed cuts down the likelihood of scheduling overruns, which will help the contractor avoid fines or being fired from a job by an upset property owner.
