Construction Project Engineer

A construction project engineer plays a critical role in any construction project. In some cases, construction project engineers serve as overall project managers; in some cases, they support the project manager by focusing on one specific part of the project. All project engineers are qualified engineers and are employed by the construction company serving as the general contractor. Construction project engineers are highly trained and have extensive engineering experience before being appointed to this important position. They must not only be able to handle the budget and schedule for their portion of the project, as well as the employees under them, they must be able to work effectively with other high-ranking members of the project.

The quality of a construction project manager will go a long way in determining the success or failure of a construction project. With extensive experience and knowledge of their specific field, a construction project manager should be a fountain of information for their employees; their experience with budgeting, scheduling and employee utilization should help keep the overall project on time.
