Garage Construction Plans
A garage construction plans determine method and the amount of money needed to build a garage. Some garages are designed as part of a house, while others are designed to stand on their own. These are just some of several aspects of determining a garage's construction cost.
One of the things that can determine garage construction plans is who builds it. If a building contractor is brought in, or if it is part of an architect's design for a house, it will be more costly. If the garage is to stand alone and can be build by the owner (and a few of their friends), the garage construction plans will be limited to the amount of work can be done, the amount it costs to purchase the materials and any tools needed (and perhaps a bribe or two to the friends). Some companies also sell fully completed garages, which can be brought to a property and installed by the vendor, which would cost the owner the price of the garage, transportation and insulation.
If the garage is built by the home owner, there are several major items that must be considered in the garage's construction plans. One of the first will be the flooring of the garage--in most cases, the floor will be a simple concrete slab, but some owners like more exotic materials used. The owner will need to pay for a cement mixer to hold the cement to be laid as the slab, then make sure the slab is laid properly and evenly--then pay for any additions that they decide to make.
Once the slab is laid properly, the walls of the building become the next issue in the garage construction plans. The price tag will depend on the type of material selected for the outside--corrugated metal, vinyl siding, or brick are among the normal options. On the inside, material Is needed to build a frame to ensure the structure stays standing. Wood or some kind of strong metal, like iron or steel, can be used as part of the frame. If the garage is going to be built into the house, insulation for the walls will be needed. The cost of raising the walls must also be taken into account.
The final items in complete the garage construction plans include the kind of door selected and whether or not an automatic garage door opener is installed.
