Home Construction Tools

Home construction tools are the devices used during the construction of a private residence. Normally smaller than items used on other projects, they can sometimes be just as big and expensive to use.

At the very beginning of the home construction process, one of the tools needed is a large one: a backhoe, to clear out a flat space to build on. Once this is done, another one of the largest home construction tools, a cement mixer, is brought in to pour the concrete that will make up the foundation. Once these steps are completed, in most cases the home construction tools needed become a lot smaller.

Among the commonly used home construction tools are power tools, such as drills and saws. These tools can be gas powered, cordless or electric. The saws would be used to cut down pieces of wood used for the frame of the house and the roof, while the drills would be put to work installing bolts, screws and other smaller pieces.

Air tools are other home construction tools that might be used. Nail guns could be used to rapidly fasten down fiberglass insulation, wall siding or shingles onto the roof. There are also air powered wrenches, used for situations that require strong tightening.

Hand tools are also commonly used as home construction tools. Adjustable wrenches, pliers and screwdrivers are frequently needed in tight situations where larger pieces of equipment simply won't fit. Measuring tools like levels, laser sights and long-run wheels are also needed to make sure that everything that is being built is even and level, steps that can't be overlooked.

On the interior of the house, other new construction tools are needed. Masonry tools, which are also needed on the outside, are needed to help with the laying of tile; tile cutters are also required to make sure the tiles fit in to spaces that aren't exactly square.

Other home construction tools used in the building process include wet and dry vacuums and shop vacuums used to clean up during construction. Generators can also be used on site to provide electricity and lighting if work must take place after dark.
