Alternative Energy Development 

The development of alternative energy is gradually becoming a major concern for most governments in the world. The need to reduce the carbon footprint left by the conventional sources of fuel like oil and coal has become greater than before. This has arisen from the fact there is a lot of evidence that points to the increasing effects of global warming. Necessary steps are needed to cut down the pace at which the environment is being destroyed; alternative energy development is one such step. 

The alternative energy development initiative entails the research in the growth and possible use of renewable energy that are clean and eco-friendly. The need for these clean sources of energy has been necessitated by the effects of aspects of environmental degradation such as greenhouse gases and the use of nuclear energy. Thus the purpose of alternative energy development is the ambitious exploitation of other energy forms that are renewable. 

The effects of the traditional sources of energy like coal are sought to be reduced by development of alternative energy sources. In addition, renewable energy development seeks to reduce effects such as urban smog and to gradually increase the availability of energy by optimizing on energy efficiency with a view to reduce the costs. As such, the use of technological research has been at the core of renewable or alternative energy development. Technology such as the Intelligent Control is used largely in the development of renewable energy for the market. 

The renewable/alternative energy development is therefore done in research labs sanctioned by the state in which engineers endlessly work on alternative energy sources such as natural gas, hydrogen, ethanol, solar technology, development of wind power technology amongst many others.  

However, other aspects of energy use such as research on the best fuel injection mechanisms and other important technological aspects that can reduce energy wastage and encourage use of clean energy are also explored. There can be no doubt on the need for the research and development of alternative energy. The need for energy is increasing gradually with increase in population and advances in technology are a sure way to help solve the problem.
