Alternative Energy Technology
The use of alternative resources and the requirement of the technologies needed to harness them is becoming the order of the day. Alternative resources are basically those resources that are found in abundance in nature. These resources are inexhaustible and are eco friendly and can be used be used as perfect or if not better substitutes for non-renewable sources of energy.
An important reason for the great advancement in the technologies for the purposes of harnessing is global warming and the need to start using renewable sources as the fossil fuels on which the whole globe was so dependant is almost completely exhausted. In addition, the attempt to retrieve these resources are either too expensive or may cause serious damage to the environment.
Thus, the renewable sources are being promoted at a completely new level. The various sources of renewable energy are; solar energy, wind energy, and bio energy, these are the main sources of renewable energy. Solar energy is the energy that is harnessed from the sun. There are various ways in which this energy can be captured and converted into electricity. As the initial investment is very high, there are many technologies being found out to decrease the cost as well as increase the benefits and the rate of conversion into electricity and the storage capacity. The photovoltaic cells are responsible for the immediate conversion of the sun’s energy into electricity and are thus comparatively high to procure and manufacture. Solar energy is used to heat water, in cooking as well as for lighting requirements. Investment and usage of solar energy is being promoted by the government and is also very helpful to each individual. There are various incentives and benefits offered by the government.
Wind energy is also booming. It is the process of creating power or electricity by the conversion of the kinetic energy of the wind into electricity that can be used for various purposes such as crushing of grains, pumping of water, as well as to provide electricity to those places that have insufficient or even no electricity.
Bio energy is the term used for the energy produced from biodegradable material or waste. Bio energy is created when these biodegradable material are fused with each other in the absence of oxygen. The energy produced can be used for lighting cooking etc.
The motto of the present is renewed, reuse and recycle.
