American Energy Management

America being the most developed country in the world holds the most important position when it comes to saving energy because it is the country, which requires a huge amount of energy for its industrial operations. Therefore, it becomes all the more important for the government of America to formulate an effective strategy for energy management.

So in this regard, the Energy Policy Act of 2005 was passed by the United States Congress on 29 July 2005. This act is an attempt to fight the increasing energy problems though effective implementation of tax and loan guarantees which aids in the production of energy of different types.

There are different provisions provided through this act:

* It gives loans to those companies, which are working towards “innovative technology” which can cut down the green house emission.

* The government has increased the total amount of bio fuel that has to be mixed with gasoline.

* This act proposes the use of coal as an alternative to the other sources of energy.

* It is emphasizing on providing subsidies on wind energy and other sources of energy.

* This act has recognized wave energy as well as tidal energy as renewable energy.

* It also given the authority to the Department of the Interior to grant lease on those sources, which are other than oil and gas.

* It also includes the provision of an increase in the daylight saving time from 4 to 5 weeks.

* It also gives equal importance to provisions regarding nuclear specific projects.

According to this provision those commercial buildings, which are making improvements for saving energy are given tax exemption. The major focus is on improving the lighting arrangements. 

In this regard, there are many companies like American Energy Management, which are coming on the forefront a systems integrator. This company was started in 1978 and since then it has installed more than 1,000 control systems, which are much computerized. These systems not only monitor the external environment surrounding the building but also at the same time take intelligent decisions regarding the ventilation, lighting, cooling and heating control.

When government takes initiative and the technology joins in to fight for a common cause then good results are bound to happen. Therefore, other countries should learn from American government and take initiatives towards a common goal of sustainable development of the whole world.
