The area where the solar equipments have to be installed has to be large. Therefore, this system is difficult to be raised in the houses where there are limitations on the space. 

This system is hugely depended on the sunrays to be able to produce the electricity. This will not be the case always. During the winter, this system will be rendered ineffective, as there will be absolutely no sunrise for days together. 

The components of the solar equipment are very delicate. Therefore, the replacement and the maintenance cost will be an issue. These components are also degraded by the pollution specially the photovoltaic cells
