Energy Efficiency And Conservation

Energy efficiency means efficiently using or optimal usage of energy. In today’s world, energy efficiency and energy conservation are being highly stressed upon due to the extreme climatic conditions as well as because of personal pressures etc.

Energy conservation refers to conservation of energy by all. Conservation of energy can be attained only when each individual decides to make a change.

Every small action and contribution on the part of the each individual will help in energy conservation. Each small step, such as switch off the lights and fans while leaving a room, turning off electric appliances and gadgets, and disconnecting them from their plug points, rather than putting them on standby mode etc are very few of the many ways that we can all do to reduce this over consumption as well as conserve energy. These steps are not tough and impossible to do. All we have to do is, just remember to save and conserve every watt of energy that we can. After all minute drops of water make the mighty ocean.

Energy was mainly attained all through these years by the burning of fossil fuel such as coal. Now the world is almost completely deprived of coal and the negative impacts that this indiscriminate use has had on the climate throughout the world as well as on the environment is very serious. To make things worse, today the forest cover is also becoming exhausted at such a rapid rate that theses negative effects have no options of reducing. The carbon dioxide content in the atmosphere is very high, is thus changing the temperatures worldwide, and has thus greatly contributed to global warming.

Energy conservation and energy efficiency is now becoming the talk of the day, as the global conditions are on its way to hit rock bottom. If we do not wake up to the day and start making a change and making a difference, we ourselves do not have a bright future, forget the next generation. Energy should be tapped from various other sources such as solar energy, wind energy (with the construction of windmills), hydropower (that refers to the usage of the current of waterfalls to generate energy or power) and even nuclear energy to a certain limit.

All of us have to start doing our part, and help optimize and conserve energy for a bright future.
