Led Energy Saving Light

LED stands for Light Emitting Diode. They are the lights of the future. They are solid light bulbs that are very energy efficient. LEDs were initially confined to being used in applications or instruments such as panels, penlights, etc. Until very recent, the LEDs were being used indoor and outdoor for illumination. They were second to CFL lights.

Now the LEDs are giving the manufacturers of CFLs a run for their money as well as market share. This increasing share in the market is because of the various benefits it offers. These benefits are summed up as:

*Durability- these lights are highly durable. They are not like your ordinary light bulbs that break when they are bumped into etc. These are solid light bulbs and thus do not break very easily.

*Cool- these LEDs emit no or very little heat and are thus highly preferred.

*High Efficiency-these LEDs are very efficient, both in the terms of their power consumption as well as because of their long life.

*Mercury free-there is absolutely no mercury involved in the processing of these LEDs.

*Long lasting- the LEDs last for many years. In addition, when compared to regular bulbs they last 10 times more.

*Cost effective or value for money-when you look at the cost price, LEDs are on the higher side. However, when you see the quality of light, the duration or lifetime of the bulb, the LEDs actually work out to be cheaper.

*Reduces air and water pollution-bulbs, while they glow produce carbon dioxide. However, LEDs save on the emission of CO2, sulphur oxide and reduces the high level of nuclear waste.

*Quality of the light- the light produced by the LEDs is of great quality and don to flicker like your regular CFL bulbs.

There are also other features that are making the LEDs one of the popular ones today. In addition, they are that the LEDs are available in a number of colours such as red, green, amber, and blue and white. They also come in a wide variety of models such as:

* Spiral lamps

*Triple tube lamps

*Standard lamps

*Flood lamps

*Globe lamps

*Candelabra etc.

The modern styles of LED bulbs include:

*Diffused bulbs

*Diffused high power bulbs

*Track lighting

*Spot light and Flood light

*Recessed Down light

With the increasing need to conserve energy, the quickest shift to LEDs is suggested.
