The renewable energy is gaining more and more popularity which results in an increasing number of people who have already started using it. Although the encouraging start, the last research shows that only 2 per cent of the people are educated about the renewable energy. Unfortunately, some of the analyses showed that 30 per cent of the people have never heard of solar-collectors and 36 per cent of them cannot explain what renewable energy means. Those who are supposed to know most about the renewable energy are the students between 16 and 22 but the conclusion says that they are the ones who seem to be less informed!

However, let’s forget about those unpleasant and even embarrassing facts. In this article we are going to give some basic knowledge about the renewable energy- what it is, how it helps, how much it costs, who uses it etc. So, if you are one of those 36% who do not know anything about the topic, it would be great if you read the article to its end. Let’s first start with a simple explanation of the renewable energy. Basically, it is the energy which we can always produce because the needed “fuel” will never end. And the “fuel” which is used could be sun rays, water, biomass, geothermal and wind. I bet that you have not heard about all of the mentioned potential sources of energy. You should know that each of them has advantages and disadvantages and everyone makes the decision which of them they want to use according to their needs and the individual situation!

But now you are probably asking yourself the question why people start to use renewable energy so much. What is so special about it? As we said earlier the special thing is that it will never end and no matter what is going to happen we will always be able to use it because there will always be winds, biomass, sun, water and so on! However, there are some other reasons which you should know also due to their great significance. For example, you should definitely know that the other main energy which we use is the so called nuclear energy and it is extremely harmful for the environment and our planet- the Earth, it is what the scientists consider to be responsible for the so called greenhouse effect and the global warming! So it is great that by using renewable energy we will also be saving our planet and will make it a better place for living!

However, we should not also neglect the fact that using renewable energy is much cheaper and all investments are soon returned! It all seems to show that the renewable energy is an amazing opportunity for us to live better, spending less money and saving the environment at the same time!
