In every household today, across the world, energy bills play a crucial role in the budget today. The increase use of household appliances has lead to this state of affairs. Electricity has become a part of our daily lives. We cannot imagine even a minute without electricity. Be it a good sleep at night or doing our day to day chores, if the electricity is down, we all ask what happened. Saving on energy bills is an important agenda being discussed across countries at all levels. From the government stepping in to the man of house who foots the bill, everyone is searching for answers to find a solution to save on energy bills.

In large organizations engaged in manufacturing or distribution, energy bills have a direct impact on their profitability. It is so critical that even the survival or existence of the entity can be at stake. It is necessary to implement some crucial practices in our habits to conserve the energy. Beginning with switching off electrical appliances when not in use is the first step in the direction. Everything begins at home is the true test of character of a human being. The habits we develop in growing up are the habits we display outside in the environment.

Understanding the impact of depletion of energy sources is also helping in shaping some of these habits. Human resources and facilities departments in organizations are creating awareness by putting up signage and notices across the work place to impart the message on saving energy. Special care is taken in those areas where the consumption of energy resources is the highest. Switching to alternative energy source is also a thought which is being explored and implemented. Converting to solar and wind energy and redesigning the electrical management systems are also helping to save on energy bills. Rivers are running dry and the global warming is also on the increase spreading wide public opinion in favor of conserving the sources of energy.

Our earth is a beautiful place to live and all inventions in the field of using energy resources should be used with care not to upset Mother Nature. Switching of electricity for one minute across the world during some months is helping in saving the sources. Even power shut downs on hourly basis across cities in India are being done by governments due to lack of resources to generate energy.
