Solar Energy Fuel

With the oil reserves at the brink of completion, the scientists are working on other alternative resources of energy, which can efficiently solve the crisis of energy, which is going to come in the near future. The best way to solve this problem is through tapping the unending solar energy provided by the nature to the humankind. The tiny fraction of sun’s energy, which comes on the earth, is sufficient for the whole world in meeting its energy requirement.

There are three ways through which we can harness the enormous amount of the sun’s energy.

1. Solar Cells: - These are devices, which can easily convert the solar energy into electricity energy. They are also known as photovoltaic cells or PV cells.

2. Solar Heater: -This system is used for heating the water in the glass panels situated on the rooftops. Water is pumped through the pipe on the rooftop, which taps the solar energy and heats the water thereafter. This helps a great deal in cutting the electricity bill and at the same time helps in making the environment clean and green.

3. Solar Furnaces: - this system employs an array mirrors to tap the energy of the sun. Mirrors concentrate this solar energy in a small space thereby producing huge amounts of energy and temperatures. The temperature can reach up to 3,000 degrees Celsius.

There are a number of experiments conducted each year by the scientist to improve the capacity to tap this solar energy. Actually, it is thought that solar energy can only stored during the daytime, as its storage during nights is expensive and at the same time inefficient. Now the latest technology has solved this problem also to great extent. The scientists have come up with a simple yet efficient and inexpensive technology, which can store this solar energy at higher levels. This type of energy is not only carbon- free but is renewable therefore, we can easily rely on it for our future usage.

The solar energy fuel is applicable in number of areas such as cooking food with the help of solar cookers. Solar fuel cells are finding their use in vehicles like boats and planes. They are the primary energy provider in the satellites, which are launched into the space.

So briefly, gone are the days of the oil, the future is all about solar energy lighting our lives forever.
