Wind Energy Power

A source of energy that is a renewable source of power that is not harmful to the environment is wind power.  It is becoming more and more popular every day.  Profit margins for wind farms, the manufacturing of small and large wind turbine systems, and the selling of wind power to residential and business consumers all have a positive influence on the environment.

The Department of Energy in the United States has been working in the wind industry since 1992, and in 2005 became the world leader in wind installation.  The focus in the wind energy field is to create small wind generators for individual homeowners.

Just like an electrical utility company, wind energy farms create and sell the power generated from wind energy to the power companies, who then offer consumers the option of having a cleaner, renewable energy source

A new market that has evolved that allows power companies and wind farms to sell certificates, comparable to stocks, to consumers and allows wind energy to be placed on a national grid.  When more wind energy is put on the grid, it means less energy from fossil fuels will be used.

Wind generated turbines are more cost effective than fossil fuels.  Wind turbines are small and can mount to your roof instead of on your lawn.  An Engineered Wind System website states that a residential customer using a one-kilowatt wind turbine can save an amount comparable to two months of yearly electrical usage in a year.  The cost of having a personal wind turbine 10-kilowatt system install is about $40,000.  Homeowners investing in this type of system can expect to have little or no electrical expenses for 15 years or more.  The 10-kilowatt system will supposedly last approximately 30 years.  Make sure you check out zoning fees and permits when deciding to install a wind energy system because they tend to vary by county.  You can get guidance in this process from the American Wind Energy Association.  Their website is awea.org

General Electric’s company gepower.com is the world’s leader in wind turbine suppliers.  They are currently enjoying the large and growing demand for wind energy.  The environment, as well as, consumers and companies will benefit from the harvest and supply of wind energy.  Consumer demand for wind energy grows more and more each day, since it is a cleaner fuel and after the initial investment is cheaper than fossil fuels.
