If you are one of the many ‘eco-logically’ thinking people then you are likely to ask yourself the question where you could buy hydrogen from. However, before even mentioning even something about that, you need to know what hydrogen is, how long it has been since it gained such popularity and so on.

Basically, hydrogen should not be associated with something which can be bought anywhere. Before anything else, hydrogen is one of the chemical in Mandalay’s Table; it’s actually the first one which means that it has got one proton and one electron. The number of neutrons can vary in the different kinds of hydrogen atoms; and that’s why there are different isotopes of this chemical element and of many others as well.

So far so good! Now, let’s move forward and try to answer the next question: when did hydrogen gain such enormous popularity. First of all, it should be mentioned once again that it has always been popular as a chemical element but it was a few years ago when most people started to associate the element with something which could be bought. So it’s not surprising that questions like ‘where can I buy hydrogen from’ are more common than questions like ‘what is actually hydrogen’. Unsurprisingly, the attention was focused on this element because of the global warming and the doom prophets about our future.

As you all know, using fuels such as diesel, propane and methane are one of the main reasons pointed out for the global warming and the greenhouse effect in particular. However, the hydrogen has become popular as what we shall replace those types of fuels with. It is claimed that using hydrogen as fuel for cars and other vehicles will decrease significantly the amounts of greenhouse gases emitted in the atmosphere. So that would certainly result in the problem’s fading out and, hopefully, its solution also.

However, the truth is that even if everybody started to buy hydrogen and use it as fuel for their cars and other types of vehicles, it still would not be enough to sort the global warming problem out. Such global problems need global actions also: much more needs to be done. Producing electricity from renewable sources of energy and ceasing to cut the trees off are just two more examples about that. Anyway, it should not be thought that the increasing usage of hydrogen as fuel is a bad step taken. Just on the contrary- it’s a great thing showing that people have realized there is a problem.
