Hydrogen fusion is a simple to explain process even though it is very complicated in reality. You are not likely to know but it is one of the most important chemical reactions and processes as it is responsible for nearly everything we have here on the Earth. Thanks to that process we have the sun warming us, in the literally sense of the meaning. You wonder how that is possible. Just try to be a little patient and you will figure it out.

However, before mentioning anything else you need to understand what the process of hydrogen fusion is. Explaining it in the simplest possible way involves to say that it is a reaction in which four hydrogen protons fuse together so as to make an atomic nucleus of another chemical element (that’s usually Helium). Here is the moment to point it out that other chemical elements’ nucleus can also be formed as a result of the fusion but more than four hydrogen protons will be needed.

After all, the product in the end is Helium which we do not need so much for our development. However, the point here is not what the product is but what comes along with the product: that’s a huge amount of energy which no other reaction of fusion on Earth can produce. So it is not difficult to come up with the idea that the hydrogen fusion can turn out to be one of the main ways for producing energy on our planet. But please pay attention to the verb ‘can’- it is very important because it is all just a project. We know that a lot of energy is released but we do not know how to get it. So the hydrogen nuclear plants are still something which we can only hope for in the future even though countries like Japan have already made several attempts to build such plants and those attempts were quite successful by the way.
