The No. 9 Coal Mine is located in Lansford, Pennsylvania. This coal mine first began its first productions with hard workers in 1855. After many years of continuous production the coal mine was close in 1972. After that, the historians of Pennsylvania decided to bring the history in those old rusted coal mines back to life. It was reopened as a tourism attraction in 2002. It has a train of 1600 feet that safely merge into the mountains. There is also a 900 foot elevator shift. The No. 9 Coal Mine allows us to take a tour within the very walls our ancestors had walked through and done hours and hours of hard work.

Years and years of history reside within the various coal mine museums located within the world. Each one speaks of hardships. Many workers had suffered in very hard health conditions and suffered medically. Many died during heavy lifting and chemical exposure. All these coal mines required years of hard work.
