Gold Mining Tools
Gold mining isn't just a major industry but is also a great form of recreation for some people. An increasing number of hobbyists load up on their gold mining tools to employ their recreational gold mining trips. There is no better holiday for such hobbyists than going on a trip to search for nuggets of gold and feel akin to those who were in the original gold rushes in the 1800s.
There are many simple types gold mining equipment and they are needed for any type of gold miner to have, whether they are an expert or a beginner. Most gold mining tools need lots of practice in order to be perfected, and some of them are easier to master than others.
The easiest way to start out is through gold panning, because it is the simplest way to begin your journey into gold mining. Gold panning does take quite a bit of patience and also requires a few other tools, but if you stick with it you will find that it is an extremely effective way of finding small pieces of gold in stream beds.
You will need a gold pan to help you filter away residues of other substances while looking for gold. A finishing pan is smaller than a gold pan and it is meant to help you fine tune your filtering even further. You will need a small pick and a trowel to dig up the banks of streams. You will come across magnetic sands in the stream bed material and because gold is non-magnetic, you can use a magnet to remove away all the magnetic sand you find.
You should have a pair of tweezers to help pluck away gold particles. A snuffer bottle is used to suck gold particles off the pan. A funnel is used to help you get rich sands into a sample bottle, which has a big mouth so as to help you with the transfer. Sample bottles are made of plastic so they won't break. A magnifying glass is useful to help you get a closer look at the sand particles. Other items, such as sieves, screens and classifiers can also help you with filtering, but they are not essential to your gold mining experience.
Metal detectors are a popular piece of equipment for gold miners and they can help you find gold nuggets. You need some experience when using one because you need to know how to use it, as well as where and how to look for gold.
