Mining sector over the past few years have developed a lot and the rising demand of metals have even made the mining sector very lucrative. The mining industries are making huge amount of profit from mining metals and minerals. Mining companies are researching a lot on advancing the machineries so that mining can be made more economical and efficient also. Mining is having a very strong relationship with technology because over the past few years mining has changed only in terms of technology, as soon as the technology advances the extraction process also advances. In earlier days ancient civilization also practiced mining but with simple and tools and procedures. Some of the latest technological machines which are used in today's mining process are illustrated below.

1. Longwall machines - longwall machines are highly productive machines used in mining of coal and also in different other metals. It consists of shearers which are attached on ceiling support hydraulic based arms. The whole machine is automatic and the approximate dimensions of the machine are 5 feet tall and 240 m width.

2. Continuous miners - these are machines with sharp tungsten teeth which can easily cut off the coal from the seam. These machines are used in mining of coal and they are very efficient in coal mining. It cuts around 5 ton of coal in a minute. The use of continuous miners is very useful now days. Many companies use this machines in mining of coal because or its efficiency.

3. Rock dusters - these are the machines which help in absorbing the dust which are released after the coal is extracted and huge amount of dust comes out.

4. Personal vehicles - these are the vehicles which are used in transporting the miners and the mined metals to the surface of the earth from underground working locations. These are very important vehicles as it saves a lot of time during transportation.

5. Scoops - these are battery powered vehicles which are used in underground mines by the miners so that they can easily carry out their process of mining.

There are different mining related machines which are very important in case of mining and they are very useful also. These machines make mining much easier and more productive also. The above illustrated machines are used by all the major companies who are in this mining sector. These machines are very costly but they are very useful also.
