Mining Gold Ore

The process of gold mining is as complex as any other mining process. In addition to that, gold mining is much more in demand next to silver. Gold is a yellow element that is resistant to corrosion. It is a metal that works as an excellent electric conductor and a thermal conductor. On a general basis, gold is commonly alloyed in order to increase its metal characteristics. Nonetheless, there are two common methods involved in extracting gold from mining sites. The two processes used to mine gold ores are sluicing, dredging and hard rock mining. Both processes require a lot of technological work and miners. Precision, accuracy and most importantly safety are an absolute must.

The method of sluicing has been used since the very first gold rush in the early 1900's. Sluicing involves a sluice box. The sluice box extracts gold from the place deposits. Sluice boxes are generally made and manufactured manually. It has riffles that concentrate on creating a gap between the currents which will then in turn allow the gold to drop in suspensions into the gap. These riffles are designed to be placed at the bottom of the sluice box for higher precision. After this, the sluice box is placed within the stream in order to help maintain a channel of water flow.

The next method is referred to as dredging. This is a smaller method of place mining. It is generally operated by smaller miners who are permitted to use large suction dredges. A suction dredge is a machine that floats on top of the water. It has a small sluice box that is attached to a suction hose. This is what differentiates it from the sluicing method alone. This allows to mine underneath the water.

Finally, hard rock mining is a process in which miners must extract gold from within a hard rock. This method is extremely hard yet it is used most commonly, since gold ores are regularly found more so than any other gold ore. The only competitive process used for mining gold ore is open pit mining. In addition to that, the world's deepest hard rock mine is located in South Africa, which runs as deep as 3900 meters.

Conclusively, mining gold is in extreme demand by all consumers. It is favoured and used for the most expensive items on the market, and therefore a lot of profit is reaped from the gold stock markets.
