Mining In 2009

Mining industries are growing their business day by day. Every industry in this business is looking to start new projects as soon as possible so that their production rate increases. Several mining projects are launched in year 2009 and some of them are described below.

1. Aitik copper mine - this mine is located in Sweden and the construction process is going on this mine. This mine is owned by Boliden. This is copper mine with a productive rate of nearly 19mt ore. Constructions are expected to be over till 2010 and mining process will start soon after that.

2. Vele colliery project - this site is located in South Africa. This mining project started in year 2009 and the basic products to be extracted from this mine is coal. This project is owned by coal Africa limited.

3. Rio Blanco mine - this mine is located in northern Peru and this mine was invented in 1994. This mine is owned by Zizin mining group and it is having a production capacity of 200000 t/y. The production will start by the end of 2010. The total amount $1.10 bn is invested in this project.

4. Southern Asanti golden project - this project is located in Ghana and this mine produces gold. Ghana is situated in West Africa and more than 10% of the mine is owned by Ghana government. The major owner of the mine is Adamus resources. The project related work started in October 2009 and it is expected to end till November 2010. The expected production of the mine is 1.63 t/y. The total cost of the project is $79m - $ 86m. The cost ruction and development of the site will finish by 2010 and the production of gold is expected to start in the beginning of 2011.

5. Esperanza gold and copper mine- this gold and cooper mine is located in Peru and this mine is owned by Antofagasta minerals. This project is expected to end by the year 2010. This is an open pit mine of copper and gold. The estimated cost of the project is $2.3 Bn. The construction work was started in February 2009 and the production will start by the starting of 2011. the environment related plans are submitted and a the company is permitted to work according to the plans of the government. Once the mine starts working it is expected to produce 97000 t per day.
