Energy Stocks

Energy stocks are one of the most volatile stocks traded, bought, and sold than any of the other stock sectors today. A market that rises and falls with such extremes make it all that much more interesting to follow. Demand for energy and the mass consumption will continue to grow making it the most in demand ever.

As countries that had very little energy usage before and now are running into the modern age it is causing difficulty around the world. Consumption is on projection to continuously grow with each passing year and this will cause the energy to spread thinner and thinner. Exploration is currently at a shortfall and this is now looming on the fringe of a major, worldwide disaster.

During the normal economic tide the rise in demand for energy usage leads to the increase of investment with exploration and then into production. The recession is in full swing and causes higher and higher unemployment. The supply glut is forming which lowers the price of energy to some extent because fewer individuals are out there driving back and forth to work or doing any shopping.

When the recessionary period passes and more individuals are on the road again and shopping again the energy costs will once again rise. As you can see this is a cyclical event and one that affects all individuals around the world. Exploration for oil and natural gas is moving slowly today because the holding tanks right now are very full. One could say we are entering into a period of over capacity as we did before in the 1970's.

Production of energy was slowing down, energy prices were climbing high, and tankers were sitting off shore because all of the shoreline holding tanks were full. In this case the various energy stocks were independently rising and stockholders and stockbrokers were smiling. Today the energy stocks are fairing well, but like all the other stocks that investors keep an eye on, they are as stagnant now as they were almost ten years ago. Some of the energy stocks involved in trading on the market today is the following.

1. Anadarko Petroleum Corp. and Apache Corp

2. Exxon Mobil Corp, Halliburton Company, and Marathon Oil Corp

3. Chevron Corp, Devon Energy Corp, and Conoco Phillips

4. Royal Dutch Shell PLC, Transocean Ltd, and Sunoco Inc

5. Ashland Inc, Baker Hughes Inc, and Apache Corp
