The Pittsburg and Midway Mining Company and Molycorp Inc. were subsidiaries owned by Chevron. In 2007 the Pittsburg and Midway Mining Company and Molycorp Inc. merged under the leadership of Chevron into the new corporation of Chevron Mining Inc.

The now one thousand two hundred employees are providing coal to customers all around the world. Since the birth of Chevron Mining Inc. all of the employees and the new hires to accommodate the growing corporation the employees are deeply dedicated to providing the best coal under environmental laws and regulations, as they are able.

The continuing process is still evolving and improving with all the new enhancements that implement to meet the environmental standards. Chevron Mining Inc. now owns and operates a number of mines all around the country. Some of these new mines are the following.

1. Questa Mine for underground metal

2. Kemmerer Mine for mining coal with injury to employees

3. McKinley Mine for advance reclamation techniques

This is now an extensive oil and gas exploration adventure with the inclusion of production and operations worldwide. It is the production of two and a half million barrels of oil and the exploration areas in the deep-water regions of West Africa. This also includes exploration in the Gulf of Mexico and offshore Australia in the northwest region offshore. Another area for exploration is in the Gulf of Thailand which is beginning to prove profitable.

They are now the largest producer of oil in Kazakhstan and in Thailand they are the top oil and gas producers. Working diligently and aggressively to bring oil and gas to market and looking ahead for other clean possibilities to serve the world market.

In the Caspian area, the Chevron grown plans are in the expansion of the Tengiz oil fields which Chevron now owns about half of all interests. The crude oil production capacity is on the rise to half million barrels per day and the stakes in it are high as well as profitable.

Chevron is now one of the largest producers of crude oil and natural gas in the Gulf of Mexico. In Canada the crude oil production is an acquired task through the Hibernia Fields offshore Newfoundland. Chevron will continue to pursue new avenues and always doing what is right for the environment. Keeping the wildlife safe is also of importance and a constant consideration before beginning the drilling.
