7075 Aluminum
Undoubtedly, most of you know that most of the metals can be manufactured either by a single (pure) metal, no matter what it is, or by a whole bunch of metals mixed together (alloy). Practically, all metals could take part in an alloy and the alloy’s name is determined by the metal which is use more than the others. Let’s take the 7075 aluminum.
Obviously, it is an alloy in which aluminum plays an important role due to its large percentage used (around 80%-90% of aluminum can be used). But what are the other metals which could be found in the so called 7075 aluminum alloy. That’s certainly a question which is a reason for your interest. So it is going to be answered immediately. Other metals available in the alloy are: zinc (in fact, it is available in most of the aluminum and copper alloys and its percentage varies between 5% and 6%); magnesium (no more than 3% but not less than 2% needs to be used in the alloy); copper (between 1% and 2%) and silicon (no more than 0.5% but not less than 0.2%). Of course there are many other metals which can be found in the 7075 aluminum alloy but their percentage is so small that there is no need mentioning any numbers. Anyway mentioning the names of the metals is a necessity: those are manganese (Mn), iron (Fe), titanium and others.
Another interesting fact about the 7075 aluminum is that the alloy could be divided into three ‘sub-types’. Those are the 7075-O, the 7075-T6 and the 7075-T651 alloys. The difference among them is not considerable if we exclude the tensile strength which varies greatly. For instance, the tensile strength for the first 7075-O is up to 276 MPa where as for the other two sub-types it is between 500 and 550 MPa. It is definitely a difference which is worth mentioning, don’t you think so?
And when talking about any kind of alloy, it just could not remain unmentioned what its usages are. 7075 aluminum alloys makes no exception in that! However, before mentioning the usages, it needs to be made clear that all of them could not be possibly mentioned due to their large amounts. Once that has been clear, here they are: transport applications, manufacturing pieces of equipment for rock climbing, manufacturing parts for bikes and gliders and so on, and so on.

Cook
It is fairly obvious what the job of a cook will entail, but if you have skills in this area would you consider working on an oil rig to put them to the test? It certainly provides an altogether different environment from where many other cooks work, and yet it is...
