Aluminum Chloride
The main compound of aluminum and chlorine is aluminum chloride (A1C13). Although its basic color is white, it becomes yellow when you mix it with tricholoride. It has a boiling and melting point and is mainly used to produce aluminum metal. Aluminum chloride, which is also called Lewis acid, is also used to produce many other chemical products. In mild temperature, it tends to crack and changes from a polymer to a molecule.
Aluminum chloride becomes gas, liquid, or solid depending on the status of temperature. This compound is one of the important Lewis acids which are used to produce many chemical products. For Friedel-Crafts reactions, Aluminum chloride is used as a catalyst in acylations as well as alkylation forms. Detergents and ethyl benzene are two important products produced from aluminum chloride.
Furthermore, it is used in paint manufacture, petroleum refining, antiperspirants, lubricants, detergents and synthetic rubbers. An aluminum chloride deodorant is very common and has many types such as anhydrol forte, odaban, perspirex and dricholor. When you use aluminum chloride deodorants for your armpits you have to first wash the armpits thoroughly and then apply 20% of it before going to sleep. Keep underarms entirely dry or you may get a skin irritation after a while.
You get white stains on your colored shirts due to applications of aluminum chloride antiperspirants. With white shirts, these stains appear as a yellow stain. Many people misunderstand these stains as stains caused by sweat but in reality they appear as a reaction to the application of aluminum chloride antiperspirant. A mixture to remove these stains could be made with vinegar and warm water. First pour warm water and vinegar in equal quantity to a bowl and mix it well. Then dampen a sponge with the solution and wipe the stained areas. You have to repeat this several times and the stains would disappear little by little. If stains are still there, then put the garment into a bucket full of the mixture and leave overnight. Then rinse out the garment and launder it.
Aluminum chloride is said to have toxic reactions to the human reproductive system. Its adverse affects can differ from factors such as exposure level, sensitivity level to the chemical as well as sex. It may cause females menstrual problems, infertility, sexual behavior changes, puberty onset changes, pregnant period alternation, problem in lactation, menopause onset problems, and pregnancy outcome problems. With males, it may cause sexual behavior changes, fertility problems, sperm counts and their shape changes.
