Another significant usage of the chemical compound is in the purifying water systems. You certainly know that the running water in your home is treated by a number of chemical compounds in order all bacteria and viruses to be killed. It was not long ago when the aluminum chlorohydrate was one of those compounds but as doubts about people’s health appeared (breast cancer and Alzheimer disease), it was replaced by another compound: ferric chloride. The ferric chloride is considered to be a much better replacement since there are no doubts about its effects on the human body and health. Even though there is no certain evidence proving that the aluminum compound is dangerous, we’d better not take risks, especially as there is a 100% safe substitute.
