Aluminum Cladding

Aluminum cladding is an often employed thing for many products. It is a process which allows you to use a certain other metal for the base of a product while the exterior can have all of the advantages of aluminum. There are various reasons why you might want to use aluminum cladding on your products. Aluminum is a strong metal in some regards and a sleek metal in others. Compared to some metals aluminum is very weak, but compared to something like wood, aluminum is a very strong material and it is not uncommon to see wood with aluminum cladding all over it. The good thing about this is that it is good for providing strength to wood and the bad thing about it is that there would be no reason to use it on some products such as steel. Though even then there are reasons why you might want to use it. Even though the base of steel is much easier to use for construction than aluminum, paint holds better to aluminum, so if you want a really strong beam but don’t know what to use other than aluminum, you might want to think about using steel with aluminum cladding. Another good use of this is if you are making the wings of a plane.

The wings of a plane are made with stronger material of course but they also need to be light in order to get up and flying and this is why aluminum cladding is used. A second reason why this type of metal is used is because it is the best to be used in this kind of situation. It is good for keeping things light but not only is this benefitting, but also the fact that this kind of thing can be useful for its properties that allow it to be sleek. The air flies off of the wing really well when you are using aluminum on it so this is sometimes used on airplane wings to help the plane fly even faster. Planes need to be optimized for flight and as optimized as possible to make them a useful mode of travel. Who would want to go anywhere by plane if they could get the same distance travelling in a car at the same speed with the same cost? Nobody, it doesn’t make any sense. And planes would be much slower without aluminum whether you realize it or not. They are truly an essential thing to the process of flight.
