The aluminum composite panel seems to be gaining more and more popularity amongst the customers on the market from all over the world. It really seems to be a great item to purchase, especially if quality is what you are looking for. However, it could not remain unmentioned that the price of the panel is quite high, especially when compared to the other alternatives which could be used. But you certainly don’t think that an aluminum composite panel is expensive just because it’s something new on the market, do you? And by the way, if you think it’s something new, you should not because it has existed for a few years already but it was soon when its popularity increased so much.

Anyway, a question which you are very much to be asking yourself is why the aluminum composite panel is so much more expensive than the other alternatives on the market. Obviously, it’s not because it is a new item. The real reason is the quality: the panels with aluminum composite have nothing to do with the other panels; you can be sure about that! And if you don’t believe it, just read the article to the end as you will be informed by the structure of a small and thin aluminum composite panel.

Starting from the surface of the panel, the first thing to mention is the protective thin layer (film) whose main role is to protect the other layers of the panel. And trust me; there are more layers than you ever thought! So let’s continue: what comes next is a layer of fluorocarbon paint (it’s not visible to the simple eye, only the first layer is). Afterwards, there comes aluminum skin whose depth is half centimeter and its role is also protective: it protects the polyethylene core (which is the most important layer of the aluminum composite panel). So it should not be surprising that the polyethylene core is ‘sandwiched’ by the aluminum skin. That’s right: there is aluminum skin above the core but under the core also. Thanks to that, the core is provided with double protection: from the both sides.

And although it may sounds unbelievable, there is one more layer below the lower aluminum skin. That’s coating which makes the aluminum composite panel much easier to install. However, it’s got a protective role also. After having read all that, you are probably thinking that the panels are thick like 20 centimeters but that’s certainly not true: they are not thicker than several millimeters, which is simply amazing!
