Aluminum Fittings
If you are ever at a loss for fittings of any kind and you need to go to the store and get some good ones but aren’t sure what to get, you might want to consider getting yourself some aluminum fittings. Aluminum is a popular metal these days. Now that people are finally starting to realize that our copper consumption rates are extremely high and that we are in danger of getting rid of one of our most precious products out there on stupid things that we could be using other metals for, we have resorted to using aluminum to accomplish the same jobs that copper once did. Awhile ago it might have been common to go into a hardware store and find nothing but copper fittings for everything but because of the lack of copper recently, more people have returned to making things like aluminum fittings and other alternatives. The perfect thing is that though aluminum is a soft metal, so is copper. The same things that copper is used for, aluminum is also used for at least in terms of rudimentary construction devices such as aluminum fittings or simple screws or other random appliances like bath tubs and sinks and things.
Thankfully now that we are finally aware of how important copper is, we can switch to aluminum. There is a slight stigma associated with aluminum because people see it as a soft material, something not suitable for heavy duty jobs. This is likely because of the popularity of aluminum foil which is meant to be bent and molded easily in order to get food preserved correctly for freezing or refrigerating later. However anyone that knows anything about copper or aluminum would know that this is actually not s0omething that anyone should be worried about because copper used to be a popular foil too. People used to use copper in much the same way that aluminum was used and for the very same things. Now aluminum fittings take over where copper fittings used to be and as I said earlier, people see this as a bad thing, but it really isn’t and all it takes is some simple research to find out why that is. The only reason we are still reliant on copper is because of the fact that aluminum is not as ductile as copper in terms of electricity. Aluminum wire would only be about 20% as effective at transmitting electricity through it as copper is. This is why we stick to using aluminum for very simple things like aluminum fittings instead of committing our copper to them when the copper could be being used towards something much more important.
