Aluminum Knobs

Aluminum knobs have been a popular thing recently amongst new homes being built that are not made of the best material. Admittedly, aluminum is not the best material for house building and there are much better alternatives out there, but also a thing which must be realized is that aluminum knobs can be cheaper and this is often why they are used. This is why they are used in such poor neighborhoods, cause people that own these housing complexes that know they are going to set the rent very low do not want to do renovations ad give them gold or even brass knobs when they know the monthly return on rent will be so low. This is why aluminum knobs for doors are the most common in the projects. Personally I wouldn’t mind having aluminum knobs. Metal knobs of any kind are nice because they are something you can really grip onto, but the problem is when you order these, you never know what you’re going to get. You need to order the really thick aluminum or the knobs are going to be totally worthless. The more hollow a knob gets, the easier it is to damage, and once an aluminum knob is damaged, it is pretty much beyond all help. The dents will never go away and they are not the kind that you can simply just punch out. It doesn’t work like that unfortunately.

So once you have these kinds of knobs installed, if you have the really cheap and hollow ones then you are going to want to make sure to take the best care of them. Especially since the opening doorknob is the first thing someone will put their hand on when opening or closing a door. So if you ever want to move out of your apartment and your landlord opens the door to run a few inspections then you know you are going to be in a lot of trouble because there is no way you are going to be able to hide damage like that. If you have holes in your white walls you can always repaint or cover the walls in toothpaste. If you have other issues you can always try and cover those up too, but this is a type of thing that you can’t simply just cover up or hide. Not only is it readily visible but it is the first thing you touch and you will be able to feel the damage. Always take care of your aluminum door knobs.
