Aluminum Pontoons

Aluminum pontoons have become popular recently, or to be more specific, aluminum used in pontoon fenders has become a popular material recently. The old pontoon fenders on cars were used mostly in the 1930’s. This is when they were most popular, though there are still very classy and expensive cars being made that use aluminum pontoons. The reason that they don’t go back to using steel pontoons for fenders like they used to is because of the laws of physics. You may find it hard to believe, but you know when you see cars get into an accident and they all crumple inward and sustain terrible damages? Did you know that not only is it possible to avoid cars taking on this much damage, but that it used to not be this way at all? The truth is, cars used to be made so that when they got into wrecks, there was no damage sustained by either car, or else it would be a minimal amount such as a few dents in the fender of the car. This because they were all made with steel pontoons or with other harder metals. Now that cars all have steel pontoons instead of what they used to have, they crumple much easier. Was this because companies wanted to save money? No it is actually because if they employed the old methods, it would result in damage being sustained by the driver.

Because of the laws of energy, if there is more than one subject involved in a crash, some of the force of the crash has to be bestowed on the more mobile object. Thus, if the car is not damaged, then the driver of the car sustains twice the damage, the damage they would have normally sustained, plus all of the damage that the car did no sustain. The reason we have aluminum pontoons on all our cars is because they are excellent shock absorbers and make it safer for everyone. So don’t discount them or get worried about the fact that they are made of thin material. That is the whole point of them. You are never going to find a car built today like they used to be built, and now we have insurance to cover wrecks so you don’t have to worry about your car being damaged, tour insurance will cover the costs of the wreck and all the repairs that need to be made for you so that you don’t have to worry about your bank account while you’re sitting in the hospital nursing your wounds.
