Some of the processes used in the making of aluminum rings include extrusion, drawing and hot rolling. There is a final fabrication step that has to be followed, before the product formation is complete. The rings have to be finished to at least improve their longevity. This can be done by anodizing, polishing or painting. Usually, this decision is made by the customer, based on the kind of use they want for the rings. Unlike aluminum tubing, aluminum rings do not undergo heat treatment, as there is the risk of diameter alteration.
