Some aluminum manufacturers and producers take part in the making of aluminum rings. Ordinarily, an aluminum ring is not the most common kind, especially when you are talking in the context of jewellery. There are more expensive materials that can be used, even when their qualities don’t match those of elemental aluminum. Making of aluminum rings is not the easiest thing to do, in an industrial context, taking into consideration the intricacy of the procedure. Aluminum rings can be used for jewellery. There was a point in time when aluminum was regarded to as a precious metal. It basked in the same glory that gold basks in today. But over time, when it was realized the abundance of the metal and the relative ease in acquiring it, it has became less appreciated as an ornamental metal. But that fact not withstanding, aluminum rings are great because they are light in weight and durable. With their corrosion resistance, they can be worn all the time, anywhere. They are cheaper, in comparison to titanium rings, but they are no less aesthetic. With the right resources, personally welding one is a complete possibility.

There are aluminum rings that are made for a more industrial application, rather than accentuation. These rings are bigger in diameter, and width, and can be used in different settings, like in making steering wheels, in providing reinforcement, in framing and making of retainers. The producers usually rely on customer specifications when making the rings, so that the right manufacturing process can be used. That’s because, unlike making of aluminum sheets or panels, the process of making rings is a little more intricate, and only the most cost effective methods are chosen, based on ring quantity to be produced.

Some of the processes used in the making of aluminum rings include extrusion, drawing and hot rolling. There is a final fabrication step that has to be followed, before the product formation is complete. The rings have to be finished to at least improve their longevity. This can be done by anodizing, polishing or painting. Usually, this decision is made by the customer, based on the kind of use they want for the rings. Unlike aluminum tubing, aluminum rings do not undergo heat treatment, as there is the risk of diameter alteration.
