Scrap is initially created by collecting used and disposed aluminum from homes and industries. Aluminum cans, containers and even broken furniture can be classified as scrap aluminum. A company or service known as a scrapper is responsible for collecting all scrap metals. Once collection is complete and a sufficient quantity of scrap aluminum has been gathered it is transport to a scrap yard.
The scrap yard will reshape all scrap metals into usable sizes and shapes. Scrap yards generally deal with bulk sales. Selling single items is rare but can be arranged. Scrap aluminum can be purchased from scrap yards for those who wish to build items such as aluminum radiators or boxes. The scrap yard is the ideal place to search scrap items as many home projects require aluminum. The selling of scrap aluminum is generally done in bulk as the industries that create aluminum are the main customers. Scrap aluminum will vary from one scrap yard to the other. Many scrap yards prefer to sell their scrap by weight or set prices for certain materials. The general price will depend on the run time of the machinery and cost of maintenance. The use of aluminum is common throughout the world and it has become a widely used as raw material in housing and industries. Due to frequent usage of aluminum it is important to have a means of recycling aluminum. Scrap yards even though not ideal provide a service that prevents a majority of scrap aluminum from going to waste.
