Coal Fired Boiler
Maybe, most of you do not have a clear idea about what the coal fired boiler is. Of course that should not surprise anybody since most of the people (98%) use electric boilers (water heaters). It means that the water in the boiler is heated by using electricity just like it is with all other electricity machines in your home.
So it seems obvious what energy the coal fired boiler uses. Yes, it is absolutely clear that coal is used for increasing the temperature of the water but what you are likely to find more interesting is how the system works. Actually, the system could vary from a coal fired boiler to another one. It may sound unbelievable but some of the boiler systems are so simple that they could be done DIY.
If you think about it, you will figure it out that you can have a coal fired boiler by making a few efforts and spending a small amount of money. All you need is to have something like a fireplace where the fire will be burning. The boiler itself shall be located above the ‘fireplace’ so that it can get heated by the fire. This way you will have a cheap boiler but that is by far not the only advantage which you will be given. Having started talking about advantages, let’s continue with them.
It has already been made clear that boilers using coal as a resource are quite cheap, especially if you are enthusiastic and choose the DIY work. But there is something more: not only will the boiler be less expensive from the very beginning but you will also continue saving money from the great efficiency. The reason is that the electricity is becoming more expensive whereas the coal’s price is pretty stable and it seems like it is going to be stay stable for a long time as it has been replaced by many other alternative resources.
Another great thing about the boilers using coal as a resource is the small amount of time needed for warming up the water. If an electricity boiler needs 2 hours to heat, let’s say, 30 liters of water, a coal fired boiler would need no more than 30-45 minutes. If you are good at mathematics, you will calculate that the efficiency of the boilers using coal is nearly thrice better. It definitely does not sound like something you want to miss, does it?
