Coal Handling System
A coal handling system is a system that must be put into place in order for a successful coal business to be able to have all of their coal manufactured and prepared for selling correctly. A coal handling system can pertain to many things. For example one example of one of those systems might be a system for cleaning extracted coal and purifying it for the intended usage in the future. One does not simply withdraw coal from the mountain and send it directly to the electric company for use. Coal has all kinds of toxins and useless waste materials attached to it and associated with it that make it weigh more and make it more dangerous to use and less usable until it has reached a purified form. Therefore it is quite useful to enact a coal handling system to make sure that the coal has done what needs to be done to it and gets where it needs to go al in correct shape. Another example of this system might be the actual process that the coal goes through as it is being cleaned. There is a certain process that coal has to go through in order to be properly cleaned and there are certain plants that exist in order to do it. Each likely has their own system of cleaning and modifying coal to get it in the best working order possible in order to produce the most steam or the most coke possible. And that is an example of yet another type of system for handling coal.
There isn’t really a specific thing that the term applies to though and any set way of using coal can be called a type of coal handling system. One thing that needs to be implemented into these systems more is safety. While the actual handling of the coal itself is not necessarily unsafe, the byproduct of the cleaning process is nothing but rock debris and dangerous chemical waste materials produced in tons and tons. There needs to be a good disposal method for all of those chemicals. This is the main flaw to all handling systems for coal out there, is that there is no environmentally safe disposal method for all this waste, so it sits there and coagulates and gets worse and worse, poisoning the environment. This is something that not only corporations need to be worried about, but anyone within driving distance of a coal mine should be worried about because it would have the chance to affect them too.
