Coal mine safety can be maintained by making sure to keep all of your coal mining equipment on hand. As long as you are outfitted with everything you need, you will be equipped to handle any emergencies you might fall into. Always make sure to bring rope. It may seem silly to bring rope, but if you have a good bit of rope you’d be surprised how many problems you can solve and how many sticky situations you can find your way out of. Also, always be sure to carry around your light. You never know when you’re going to take a wrong turn and accidentally find yourself in unfamiliar territory. You’ll spend the entire time worried sick and lost and scared without your light and you’d be wishing every second that you had just minded a few coal mine safety tips and you’d have never gotten yourself into that mess.

One other tip to always pay attention to and this is one that most people forget, is to always keep your lamp battery charged, or to always replace with new batteries before entering. A lot of miners may think that they have their particular mine well understood and they may think that they are fully understanding in everything that they see in their mine, but they’d be surprised at how confusing and scary their mine can be in the dark. This is something that I can’t stress enough. It is of the utmost importance. Carelessness has killed more people than any disease you can think of and leaving your batteries at home is the most careless thing you can do. If you feel like the light your lamp is emitting is waning then it might behoove you to leave the mine as soon as you see this change. Even if it means less pay for the day or you get yelled at by your boss, it is imperative that you pay attention to coal mine safety tips and don’t put yourself in dangerous situations for no reason. Nobody wants to die at all really, but of all places to get lost, a mine is probably the worst, it is pitch black and never has any hope of being anything but dark. If you are lost in there, unless you are incredibly adept at feeling walls or blind and already familiar with the mine, it is pretty much clear you are never going to be getting out. Since this doesn’t seem to be too appealing an end to most people, they’d rather choose to mind their safety.
