Grande Cache Coal

Grande cache coal is one of the most recent and largest coal mining corporations in the world today. It is certainly of the largest in its home country of Canada. Grande Cache Coal, also known as GCC for short was started on the premise that businessmen finally wanted to make use of the plethora of coal that was known to exist in the Grande Cache region of Alberta. The interesting thing about Grande Cache Coal is that it is a publicly traded company, meaning anyone can purchase stock in it if their price is right and they make no secrets about its appreciation and depreciation respectively, with a little banner in the home page of their website itself reminding people how GCC is doing in the stocks that day. More information on this can be obtained by clicking on it. Though coal has been produced in that area since the late 1960’s, GCC formed as a formal company in 2000 in order to take care of it and put a name on the business that had already been going on there for so long. Luckily GCC does not seem to be an evil company only interested in profiting. They award scholarships of one thousand dollars every year to deserving high school students. One scholarship is just given to top performing students simply for the sake of performing well. The other is for a student that has shown interest in the trade industry and is willing to start their future in the coal industry once they graduate college.

In addition to this, GCC also participates in other community activities, such as mining based competitions centered on mine rescues and how to get people put of sticky situations within mines in a timely and safe manner. GCC also sponsors sports teams such as a basketball team and a hockey team, but seem to be too modest to mention what either of those teams are on their website which begs the question “how much do they really care?” Either that, or it could be an indicator that they care so much about the team, they don’t want to use the team as s springboard for their own agenda at getting more publicity and more money. Besides, large industries such as the coal industry or the electric industry or what have you best do their advertising through subsidiaries and other mediums, it makes little sense to see people advertising something that is seen as a necessity by people anyway, and is a thing people either have to purchase, or that they purchase at some point or another regardless of advertising. Their money would be spent better somewhere else when applied to some other worthy cause.
