Insulated Copper Wire
One of the big things about insulated copper wire is that it is insulated. Most copper wire needs to be insulated, unless you are a big fan of cleaning copper later. This is because the insulation in insulated copper wire is there to keep the elements away from it. If the elements get anywhere near copper of any kind, it can morph and become something that you don’t really want it to, and because of this more and more people are realizing the importance of insulated copper wire and of making sure that the copper wire is totally and completely cut off from any other contaminating elements that might keep it from performing at top capacity. When people get into the habit of using copper wire and not setting it away from everything else correctly, it goes through a process of oxidization. This is where it doesn’t necessarily deteriorate, but it attracts oxygen particles and other waste contaminants that coat the outside of the thing and cause it to have a build up around it that will not soon go away. It needs to have a sort of system to keep this from happening. This is not just an aesthetic thing either. The copper wire will be less effective because the heat and electricity going through it will be partially diverted into these contaminating elements, making it harder to get a response from one side of the wire to another electrically and making things heat slower. There is really no reason in the world you should allow this to happen to your copper, but if it does there are ways to clean it. There is such a thing as copper cleaner out there for you to make use of and if that doesn’t work then red wine vinegar is a great cure for the stuff on the outside. That is the best way to get rid of it.
If you are not able to get a hold of these things or do not wish to deal with cleaning your copper then the best way to not have to do any of these things is simply with prevention. You need to let this not occur at all to your copper wire in the first place and the only way to do this really is to make sure that the copper wire is not caught up in any problems or put into any harsh environments that it wouldn’t work in. Be responsible with your copper, insulate it, and this won’t happen as often.
