Cost Of Renewable Energy
Renewable energy is very much in a good deal of discussion in many scientific communities today. With the issue of climate change and dwindling energy resources, it would be very much helpful if there are renewable energy sources that can help limit the use of fossil fuels and in the long run, eradicate the use of such energy. As of the moment, there have been a lot of debates about the practicality of this option because of the cost of renewable energy.
The cost of renewable energy is of a major importance to the whole world. First and foremost, the issue of credit crunch has hampered with much of the global economies. There are many renewable energy options being considered. Some like manipulating water to extract hydrogen as energy is a potential source of energy. The problem though is that the extraction of hydrogen is a very expensive and costly process. This makes this option a disadvantageous one.
Some other options are more acceptable but not much to be able to power in a national scale. One of these is the wind mill energy. the power of the wind is a good way to get energy but one wind mill is not enough. You have to build a lot of mills to harness wind. The next issue is on the source itself. You can harness it mostly on secluded areas far from the communities. This poses a big problem when it comes to cost of renewable energy because it is very much expensive to build a wind farm that generates energy that is not enough. It does not match up to the needs for a national energy source.
The cost of renewable energy is sometimes really that great that is why continuous research is being done to help minimized the disadvantages. Some power plants may opt to use a combination of wind and solar energy to be able to cut back on the use of fossil fuels. Homes can benefit greatly on solar energy though it is expensive. The cost of renewable energy might be of a disadvantage to some, but for the environment, this is only a little cost you would have to spend to save energy and to invest for the better future of the next generation. The good thing is that there are options and alternatives to traditional energy usage and if we support continuous research on the energy alternatives, someday, the cost of renewable energy will lessen and it will be accessible to all.
