Light And Energy

There are a number of ways to conserve energy and water.  Some simple things you can do without much effort at all is to change from a high watt light bulb to a lower watt.  You can cover your windows when the sun is at its hottest and you will conserve energy by keeping your house cooler therefore using the air conditioner less.  A few other ways to conserve water and energy are to:

* Lower the temperature on your hot water tank to 120 degrees.

* Keep shades or curtains on your windows closed when it is hot out to prevent your air conditioner from running as often.

* Use lower wattage light bulbs throughout the house, especially in rooms that are used very little.

* Wash your clothes in cold water.

* Clean heating and air conditioning filters monthly.  When the filters are dirty, your appliances tend to work harder.

If your electric bill rises dramatically call, your power company there may be a serious as well as dangerous issue.

A challenge that is facing the producers of livestock is the management of manure and processing water that will protect the environment and control odors.  The president of Green Energy is looking into ways for farmers and ranchers to use manure that is generated by their livestock into a renewable, clean, domestic energy source.  In a single day one cow can generate up to 120 pounds of manure, and when not disposed of properly can cause contamination to water and threaten public health as well as contribute to climate changes.  Bio waste conversion technology can change the methane gas that the manure contains into electric.  Using this technology would change animal waste into renewable and clean energy so that farmers and ranchers could produce their own electricity.  With as much as 70 billion pounds of manure being produced in a year by California dairy farms alone, these farmers would also have the opportunity to sell any excess electricity to the open market.

Light is considered a wave or as a particle.  Light is also described as a wavelength and sometimes a photon.  Photons, however, produce or emit particle waves and waves, according to physics can be measured, therefore, we should be able to produce a renewable energy from light.   The different types of basic energy are easily classified as either electromagnetic, mechanical, or matter.  Mechanical energy acts like waves in a water pool.  Electromagnetic energy and matter both emit energy waves in the same sense as an electron.
