Renewable Energy Opportunities

The latest trend in the industry is to fine any renewable source of energy that can reduce our dependence on oil and its products. The most common among them is probably solar energy. However, there are many other resources that have barely been tapped into.

1. Geo thermal energy – here the main source is the core of the earth. The earth’s core contains a lot of heat that is at a high temperature and pressure. The advantages of geo thermal energy over fuel are that primarily it is renewable and has no emissions of any kind. In addition, it requires very little investment to be able to produce electricity and hence is a viable replacement for fuel.

2. Wind energy- the movement of the wind is harnessed and converted into electricity. Hence, the energy is renewable as well as non-polluting. The wind energy industry is as of now predicted to be the fastest growing renewable energy resource. The opportunity in this area is huge and very profitable.

3. Green architecture- another renewable energy opportunity is the construction of buildings in a way as to conserve energy. This is very efficient, as the more energy we conserve the less we require which decreases our usage.

4. Solar energy- the most popular and well-known form of renewable energy is solar energy. It is useful in heating water and can be converted into electricity as well. Since the earth receives a huge amount of solar energy, its availability is not an issue but its harnessing is. The improvements in technology will help us harness the energy better.

5. Waste management- this is another source of renewable energy as there is a huge amount of waste discarded by households around the world. The conversion of this into energy will not only help in reducing our energy shortage but also decrease the garbage disposed around the world.

These methods are fairly recent developments and while developed countries are harnessing these resources, developing and underdeveloped countries are yet to benefit from these sources. The best way to not only increase the importance of renewable resources but also educate the masses on this issue is through the internet or through social messages. By doing this on one hand we are trying to get more energy from other sources we are also protecting the environment from the harmful effects produces by fuel emissions. Hence, we are not only becoming self-sustaining but also environmentally safe.
