Today's world is the world of technology, a lot of advances are being made daily in the field of science and technology which are making our lives simple and easy. A hydrogen battery is also one great achievements of today's science.

Hydrogen batteries as the name tells are electrochemical device. It has has all of its chemicals stored inside, and it converts those chemicals normally into electricity and you need to recharge by time as well. Hydrogen batteries usually come in combination with nickel or oxygen, and both are used for different purposes.

The nickel-hydrogen battery comes as a sealed secondary battery; it combines the technologies of batteries and fuel cells. The nickel-hydrogen battery has its positive electrode made of a nickel oxide, similar to the nickel-cadmium cell. Its negative electrode is of hydrogen just like the hydrogen-oxygen fuel cell. This hybrid battery has the properties like long cycle life, high specific energy, high power density, and also exhibits tolerance for overcharge , despite its uses it’s a bit expensive and has a low volumetric energy density. These batteries are used in wide applications such as in geo-synchronous (GEO) applications, low earth-orbit (LEO) satellites and in terrestrial applications as well.

Nowadays most models of hydrogen fuel cell cars in the market come with some sort of hybrid or plug-in hybrid batteries. The purpose of these batteries is to increase mileage and range of the vehicle. That is the reason why todays top automobile companies are moving their designs from lithium ion to nickel-hydrogen batteries. The major automakers believe that the two great technologies the fuel cells and batteries when worked together can produce a winning combination for years to come.

The other hydrogen batteries are the Oxygen- hydrogen batteries. Researchers have come up with a cheap and easy idea for storing solar energy, for this purpose a battery is designed to store excess energy in it which can be used later when the sun isn’t shining. The Oxygen Hydrogen battery can be the key to store solar energy.

Hydrogen batteries provide best solutions in many fields of life especially the Nickel hydrogen batteries are well known in the automobile industry. Because of their ease and safety they are being used by many people in their cars and they are enjoying their lives with its use ,as they increase the efficiency of the car.
