Hydrogen Fuel Technology
Nicola Tesla who was born in Serbia in 1856, a well-known mechanical and electrical engineer, who first introduced hydrogen fuel technology to the World. The hydrogen fuel technology is the way to produce burnable gas with water electrolysis. The importance of hydrogen fuel technology is steadily increasing manifolds today because of the daily increase of the price of gas. The average person has already realized that they are unable to afford gas and fuel. All indications show gas and fuel prices cannot be expected to come down but increase.
Many automobile manufacturers worldwide now use hydrogen fuel technology to energize their products. Besides the spiraling cost of fuel, many other reasons increase the value of hydrogen fuel technology as well. Increased gas mileage, reduction of emissions, better vehicle performance, environmental friendliness etc are some reasons to accelerate the practice of using hydrogen fuel technology worldwide.
As mentioned earlier, hydrogen fuel is produced with HHO gas when it mixes with normal fuel. Unlike normal fuel, hydrogen burns hotter increasing the gas mileage of automobiles. Hydrogen is a natural element in water. It is not a source of energy but a carrier of energy. Hydrogen is used to make a compact energy source in batteries and fuel cells. At present, there are many famous companies who do research to increase the productivity of hydrogen energy.
Harnessing sunlight using photovoltaic cells and taking this energy to split water to get hydrogen is one major aspect of hydrogen fuel technology today. It is said that to produce 1 billion kWh (kilowatt hours), about 1.3 billion kWh of electricity that is needed. When considering harnessing sunlight to produce hydrogen, it seems a highly impossible task when considering the enormity of solar cell arrays that are needed to produce energy from sunlight at the required point.
Hydrogen fuel technology is one important field that has to be developed to curtail excessive usage of fuel and gas worldwide. Energy resources will never increase but decrease every day. That is one reason hydrogen fuel technology is important to human kind. Nevertheless, it also combines with many other energy resources to produce hydrogen. Such reasons restrict its development to a major power deriving source. Many scientists think that harnessing energy by using hydrogen fuel technology will not give much support in reducing fuel and gas usage in the future. One reason is the expenditure that goes to produce hydrogen. However, the World has to find new ways to curtail fuel consumption and at the same time to increase productivity. With hydrogen fuel technology they may have some hope.
