Uses Of Hydrogen
There are more than a few uses of hydrogen out there today, but lately there is one particular use that has become pretty popular, particularly with the automotive industry. If you’re wondering what this could possibly be, I’ll let you in on the secret, it’s not actually that complicated. One of the uses of hydrogen that is becoming popular with the car industry is in the form of a bivalent engine. If you are wondering what a bivalent engine is, that’s alright, because I didn’t know what it was at first either. It was a term I was completely unfamiliar with. What a bivalent engine does is that it takes the input from two different forms of gases and uses both of those in a special way to power the car. If this does not go in depth enough for you then this is where the uses of hydrogen as related to the auto mobile become even more interesting. A car with this kind of bivalent engine burns up the oil you put in it to create gas, but it does not just use the hydrogen burned up either and then use half and half. Hydrogen burns up too fast and too hot for us to do anything with it like this or on its own in terms of powering a car. So what we do is we take small pockets of hydrogen and then use the power created by those burning up and then in turn deposit that energy into the gas tank that is burning the normal gas so that the gas will burn more completely.
This phrase of burning more completely might sound a little confusing to you, and again, that’s okay, because it sounded weird to me as well, but from research I’ve found on the internet, some tanks of gas use as little as 80% of the gas that you get in them for powering the car and the other 20% is burned up and then lost into the atmosphere because of the fact that the stuff just burns incorrectly. Adding up all of those tanks you end up getting quite a hefty loss and that is a big deal whether you want to admit it or not. Thankfully there are things we can do to curb this expenditure such as using hydrogen on our tanks to make sure nothing is wasted again. And if there is one thing many people hate these days and in these hard times, its wasted money.
