Chevron

Chevron Corporation is a power company located in California. While some gas, power, or oil companies are only engaged in certain aspects, Chevron is involved in all aspects of the power supply industry. Chevron is involved in the exploration of crude oil, produces its own oil, refines it into gasoline, and other fuels, transports it, sells it, and does its own marketing of its products. Chevron is one of six oil companies that are involved in all phases of the oil, and power business, giving it a title of a "Supermajor" oil company.

Chevron has been in business for 130 years. making it the second oldest oil companies in existence. The oldest being Pacific Coast Oil Company. By the early 1900's several oil companies were created, and Chevron found itself with more competition , because of the demand for oil. Chevron was known back then as Standard Oil of California ( Social), and was one of seven oil companies that dominated the industry. In 1933 Chevron was granted permission to explore for oil in Saudi Arabia, which a few years later, became one of the largest oil supply areas in the world. Years later the Saudi Government began buying up interesting the oil company, and by 1980, the Saudi government owned and controlled the whole company
