The mining industry is diverse in the fact that there are so many different positions and different products that are mined. The mining industry is also world wide making it a great career choice for people who like a challenge and like to be working with the environment. People tend to think of mining as men with pick axes and hard hats with lights. This is not even close to the mining done in today's world.

There are many positions and jobs in the mining industry. It starts with the exploration. Finding the place to mine. Then it has to be determined how to construct , secure, and what manpower will be needed to work the mine. This requires engineers, scientist and other professional employees. The skilled labor is needed, along with mangers, and other employees to make the jobs safe, and secure, and productive. This is how mines are worked in today's society. Because of the diverse need of people its not always easy to fill or find qualified people for the positions. Because of the diversity, Mining employers companies have surfaced on the internet. These websites companies deal with the mining industry exclusively,. The positions can vary from qualified engineers, to geologist, or other scientist, to general mining labor workers. These website companies work with mining , oil, off shore drilling companies to find qualified workers for their companies.. This makes is easier for both the company, and the people looking for jobs, It's a one source website that has many possibilities for mining positions.

The mining employer websites are usually free for the person applying for a position. The actual employer ( not the website company) pays a fee to post their job position, or pays the website company if they find a person of interest. Another option in finding a mining position is to get a list of mining companies, and send a resume direct. The only downside of this is there may be no openings in your field , and therefore no job will be available. Using a mining employer website will list available current positions, their locations, and other requirements for obtaining the position
