Many of these pipelines are found and originated in some of the most remote areas in the country, while other are found deep within the sea bed. Depending on a person's taste and preferences, a person that is looking for a job in the oil industry could find a job in Santa Barbara, California or Prudhoe Bay, Alaska. The ability to relocate in some of the US's most beautiful places, it what makes a job in the oil and gas industries so enjoyable.

However, to be successfully these industries, a person needs to have the ability to work well with machines and machinery. When working within these industries is important for a person to be able to handle working with tough equipment and tool, working extremely long hours, and have the ability to trust and work with others. Yet, the most important thing of all is a person ability to be able to follow directions. Following directions is the key in surviving in that world because with so many dangerous situations that surround a person in the oil and gas field, if they cannot follow directions, they may be putting their life and the lives of others at risk.

When working in the US's oil and gas industries, the work hours vary every companies. However, it is very common for big refineries to be working around the clock - 24 hours a day. Many companies employ their workers for shifts of 12 hours. However, however there are some companies that many allow certain employees to work eight hours. Nonetheless, the general rule of employment hours is twelve hours a day for a 14 day rig work shift followed by a seven day rest period from the rig. The entry pay level is about $15 hours to start but after some training and experience it will increase to $25.

In conclusion, the US industries of gas and oil are great places to find a work.
