Even though they are often situated many miles offshore and are open to the elements, these oil rigs are amongst the toughest and safest environments in the world. Work related injuries however can often occur, and the quickest way to the nearest hospital is via helicopter.

The industry is a dynamic industry to be in and many people search for oil companies jobs so that they can start a career which they hope will be their key to making good money and hope that after a few years working offshore, they can get an onshore job and settle down with a family and have a healthy bank balance to afford a new house and car.
