Painter

This job is more technical than most people may take it to be, painting as an art has existed since ages ago. A painter will come as a house painter or a decorator, they both have different styles of working that's why the variety in names, its not a strange thing to find a tradesman possessing both type of skills.

Painters do offer their skills for sale, a painter will paint or decorate you house at fee, most of the time there is no standard fee as to how much a client has to pay, it will all depend on which painter the client will settle for, professional painters will charge more for a job than a novice or a freelancer seeking to build demand. It's up to the client to determine what level of expertise he needs.

Tools of trade for this particular job will range from a brush, roller or a spray gun. Latest advances from manufactures have led to standardizing of this tool of trade especially the brush, old brushes have fallen short of current standardizing requirements, the spray gun is a recent tool mostly used by painters, most of them have a motor that is electrically powered, you can also find those that use fuel to run, the motor will pump the paint through a hose into a spraying gun, which atomizes the paint into fine spray. Painters love these spraying guns since they can spray large area of surfaces at the shortest time possible.

Brushes on the other hand exist in many different shapes and sizes, these are used for different purposes, there those that are used to apply what we call a first coat and others are used for the finishing, a Painter will normally know what brush to use and for what purpose.

Brushes should be stored well so as to maintain their purposes, bad storing normally spoil them, the best place to store is in specially made brush keeper, a box that has suspending wires in it, the wires are used to suspend the brushes in a solution and also keep them from sitting at the bottom of the container, this is done to avoid the spreading of the bristles, the solution will also prevent hardening of the brushes and oxidation.

A painter jobs description is that of mixing of the paint, keeping ready supply of pigments, oils or any thing that he may require for the job, he is responsible for preparation of the surface to be painted such as patching holes in the drywall, and any other preparation work. Preparation is as vital as the paint work itself, bad preparation before a job will damage or produce a quality of work that was never intended at first.

The painter will then use his expertise to paint and decorate the setting, painting can be as a hobby but true painters use their skill, knowledge and expertise to sell their services.
