Rooftop Wind Turbine

If you have a backyard that is crowded with lots of trees or lots of random brush and for some reason it would be hard to erect a standard turbine there, then there are other options. You may want to consider erecting a rooftop wind turbine. These have many advantages over the standard type. The advantages for this are that, unless you live on a farm and you can measure the size of your backyard in acres or miles instead of a standard square foot measurement, chances are you’re not going to be able to find a place to put that turbine where at least one side of it won’t be covered. And this way if the wind is blowing in the direction of your house, your wind turbine wouldn’t receive any power because it would mostly all be deflected by the broad side of the house. Lots of things like this could obstruct it like trees and other houses and fences and such, and if you don’t want to have to deal with that and just want your wind power now, then I would suggest looking into purchasing a rooftop wind turbine.

These types of turbines are essentially the same thing but the main few disadvantages to a rooftop wind turbine versus a standard turbine are two. One, it will be tougher to erect. You will really need to know what you ate doing when setting it up. You cannot have it tilting at all and you cannot have it out of line of where the wind normally comes from. You also need to make sure it is both bolted and roped down so there is no chance of it falling out of its enclosure. The other down side to this design would be that once it is installed it will be very hard to modify, as you will need constant roof access. These things are better installed on flat roofs on buildings rather than on residences just because there is less interference and more full coverage from wind. It is up to you how you want to install your rooftop wind turbine but as long as it is roped down carefully and installed at a point where it will not fall down easily, then you will have done your job correctly. Still though it is best to look at the options you have whether for putting in the yard or on the roof and also look through what styles are offered, don’t settle on something sooner than you need to. Make sure to take your time.
